Ghost Town Halloween Tags

Hello again Doodlebug friends!  October has been an awesome month for Doodlebug fans because we’ve been treated to two adorable new collections! Today I’m playing with Ghost Town, the newest (and cutest) Halloween Collection. Halloween of course is all about tricks and treats, so for my 'treats' this year I decided to make tags with sweet little Halloween scenes, here’s a look:

These little tags came together easily with just a few elements. I cut all my tag layers using a metal tag die set.  I used the Ghost Town 6x6 and Petite Prints Buffalo Check 6x6 paper pads for the base and subsequent layers.

I used small banner dies and the Ghost Town stamp set for the sentiments.  Ok, that little frog on the back of the scooter is hilarious!

Aren’t these costumed kiddos the cutest?  They are all images from the Icon sticker sheet popped up on foam squares. I also used moon, star and cloud Shape Sprinkles for some of the scenes.

Here’s just one idea for using tags this size. I love all of the seasonal soaps that are out this time of year and sometimes I give them as small gifts to friends and family.

All they need are cute gift tags tied to them!  That’s it for me today, I hope this project sparked a little creative inspiration in you!  Happy crafting!

Pumpkin Spice Cards and Tags

Hello Doodlebug friends! I’m excited to share my first project using the perfect new Fall themed Pumpkin Spice Collection.  When I got my hands on this adorable collection I had a few ideas for what I wanted to create (I couldn’t decide on just one thing) so I decided to make a couple of different cards and a trio of tags. First up are the two cards. One is a pop up, shadow box card with several of the cute critters from the icon sticker sheet. The second card is A2 sized using the Hay There Doodle Pop scarecrow sticker as the focal point.

I know there are lots of creatives out there who make dimesional cards without the help of metal dies or digital cutting machines, but I’m not one of them lol! I need all the guesswork done for me, so this shadow box is made from a metal die set.  The base is cut from the new Kraft Buffalo Check double sided paper.  The woodgrain print on the inside is perfect for my critter scene.

I used pistachio gingham and linen pattern paper to get the look of a sky in the background and popped up the sun, cloud and tree icon stickers with foam squares.  I have 3 grassy panels where I arranged the critters peeking out and waving.  I know I packed a lot of images in a small scene but how could I not?  The Thank You banner sentiment across the top is from the Odds and Ends Chit Chat die cuts, embellished with acorn Sprinkle stickers on either side.

The A2 card is layered using 3 pattern papers from the Pumpkin Spice 6x6 paper pad as well a gigham and linen petite print pattern paper for the back panel. Again, I used Odds and Ends Chit Chat dies for the sentiments.

For the three tags I used a metal tag die set and papers from the Pumpkin Spice 6x6 pad and the Buffalo Check Petite Print 6x6 pad.  For my scenes I used lots of Shape Sprinkles and a few Icon Cardstock stickers.

Hello adorable falling leaves and mushrooms!

I can’t get enough of these happy little Sunflower Sprinkles, I made two tags with their cute faces.

Seriously how cute are those pumpkins?  I’m sure you will have as much fun as I did playing with this new awesome Fall Collection.  Be sure to share your projects on social media and tag #doodlebugdesign so we can see what you are creating!  Have a great day!

Special Delivery and Bundle of Joy Gift Sets

Today is all about Doodlebug’s sweetest Baby Collections.  I used Special Delivery and Bundle of Joy to create assoreted cards and gift a bag front perfect for a baby shower.
I have a metal die that cuts a card pocket and adheres to the front of a gift bag.  The bag dimesions are approximately 6x3x8. The card is a top folding A2 size card so it slides in and out of the pocket easily.
I layered 6x6 pattern papers, some odds and ends die cut and chit chat pieces and shape sprinkles to embellish my cards.
Next up is a slimline card with 3 lift the flap elements. I used cardstock icon stickers on the front of 2 flaps and a sentiment stamp from Special Delivery for the middle flap.

When you lift the flaps you see 2x2 cut apart squares with adorable images waiting to greet you.

Here’s a look at the three different size cards, the hot air balloon card being the one that slides into the gift bag!

Here’s a look at the Bundle of Joy set which is very similar to the Special Delivery set.

There are so many precious images in these collections but I couldn’t resist the storks and teddy bears which seemed appropriate for congratulating parents on their new arrival!

Summer Wood Decor

I love all kinds of papercrafting projects and that includes wood decor projects too!  I found these hexagon shaped wood blocks and thought it would be fun to paint and cover them with paper using Doodlebug’s Summer Collection Bar-B-Cute and the Alex alphabet Doodle Cuts.  I have six blocks, so just enough to spell the word SUMMER.  And if this project looks at all intimidating, it really isnt!  It actually came together quite easily.

I traced and cut a few layers of coordinating paper for each block as well as die cut my letters in black, then chose some stickers to match my paper.  Here is how I layered my paper and stickers and arranged the letters.

Next I painted each block a different color to match the paper I was using.  I used basic acrylic paint that you can find at any craft store including red, green, yellow, white and two different colors of blue.  Once the paint was dry I glued my first paper layer to the block.

Once my first layer was glued and completely dry I added the other layers and letters. I used foam tape behind the scalloped circle for a little dimesion. This is how the finish project looks:

Hexagons are a fun shape with lots of options for arrangement.  The best part is I have a pop of bright Summery color to add to my space and preserve this cute collection for years to come!

One last thought I wanted to add, if you aren't necessarily into painting wood, you could always make a banner in a similar way, no wood required! I happen to love banners for all the Seasons and Holidays but that’s a project for another day!  Thanks for stopping by, have great day!

Cards and Tags/Bar-B-Cute

Sunshine, rainbows, clouds and balloons all with the cutest little happy faces!  If you want to brighten someone’s day, these are the perfect images and sentiments to do just that!  Today I’m using the Bar-B-Cute collection which is all about Summertime fun, but Doodlebug collections are very versatile with plenty of sentiments for greeting cards and tags to play with too! Here’s a look at the assortment of cards I created around a sunshine and rainbow theme.
For the first two cards, I used card bases from kits I had from other collections and layered both with 6x6 pattern paper as well as odds and ends and chit chat dies cut images and sentiments.  I used the Fun in the Sun Doodle Pop sicker and some enamel heart shape sprinkles to embellish.

Up next are two tags and a ‘bag’ layered with lots more colorful papers die cuts, stickers, and smiley faces.
I cut this pillow box with handle using my Silhouette machine and focal point using a Doodle Cuts Nesting Scallop die and Icon cardstock stickers.  The two small cards are cut apart journaling cards I layered with foam tape.

There are still plenty of sentiments and images to make more cards and tags so I plan to do that soon.
I hope you have fun mixing and matching and layering all the cuteness in this adorable collection.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Treats Boxes/Land That I Love

July 4th is coming up and not only do I love decorating in red white and blue, I love to make festive cards and other paper crafts to give friends and family for this fun Summer Holiday.  I used the 'oh so cute' Land That I Love collection to make and decorate 3 treat boxes to go along with the cards and tags I shared on my last post. Here’s a look:
First up is actually more like a goodie bag, I die cut this using two pattern papers and a 2x2 cut apart as my focal point.  The happy little star is from the odds and ends pack and adhered with foam tape.  I finished it off with a clothespin bow at the top.

My second container is a 3 inch mini, clear, paint can I found on Amazon.  I measured my patterned paper to slip inside and secured with clear tape. The Porch Posie Doodle Pop sticker is front and center as well as the Hip Hip Hooray sentiment from odds and ends.  I tied several coordinating ribbons on either side of the handle and the Love die cut tied with twine on one side.  The lid is embelished similarly.

Lastly, and probaby my favorite of the three boxes is this simple little wagon. For some reason wagons remind me of hometown parades and seem to fit for July 4th festivities!  It’s a digital cut file I found at the Silhouette store here.  The double flags were the perfect finishing touch.

This was such a fun little set to put together.

I hope you enjoy your fun Fourth of July activities, and of course your creative paper crafting endeavors!

Card and Tag Assortment / Land That I Love

I am absolutely in love with Doodlebug's new Land that I Love Collection! And there’s just something special about the red, white and blue color combination that makes me happy. It’s awesome for 4th of July cards, layouts, albums and other projects, but doesn’t always have to be just for that! For today’s project I created an assortment of cards and tags using a bunch of elements from this adorable collection. Here’s a look:
First up is my slimline card. This card meausres approximately 3 1/2" by 8 1/2” and what I love about this size, is that it opens up the possibility to use longer elements in the odds and ends die cut packs, like the cute banners and phrases. The hello sentiment is a die from the All Occasion Doodle Cuts set which I cut 3 times and layered to give it a little dimension. I used some Doodle Pop and Sprinkles stickers to embelish my scene.

Next are two cards measuing approximately 3"x 4”.  I used some of the 6x6 pattern papers and a couple of the Summer Streamers cut apart cards (which I trim down a little on every side) as well as Odds and Ends pieces that I layered on top, and adhere with foam tape for dimension.  The shape sprinkes are so dang cute, I use them all the time to give my projects an added pop of color and an element of glossy shine.

For some of my layers I used stiched pierced and scallop circle and square dies.

Lastly, are the tiny 3”x 3” cards and a couple tags.  I used lots more 6x6 pattern paper, some square Cut Aparts and for the tags, of course more Doodle Pops!
I know you are going to love playing with this new Collection as much as I have and we can’t wait to see what you create- so be sure to share your projects on Doodlebug’s social media!
